The Royal Irish Regiment Portal

1. Introduction
Welcome to The Royal Irish Regiment Portal (“the Portal”), operated by The Royal Irish Regiment (“we,” “our,” or “us”).
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Portal, including all content, features, and services provided through it.
By registering for or using the Portal, you agree to comply with these Terms.
If you do not agree, please do not use the Portal.
2. Purpose of the Portal
The Portal exists to support serving soldiers, veterans, and affiliated members of The Royal Irish Regiment.
It provides a secure online space for communication, welfare updates, regimental news, event information, and community engagement.
3. Eligibility and Registration
- Access is restricted to verified members of The Royal Irish Regiment community.
- You must provide accurate and truthful information when registering.
- Accounts are personal and must not be shared with others.
- We reserve the right to verify your identity (for example, through service number, veteran status, or regimental records).
Failure to provide accurate information may result in suspension or removal of your account.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Portal responsibly, respectfully, and lawfully, and in a manner consistent with the Regiment’s values and standards.
You must not:
- Post or share material that is defamatory, abusive, harassing, discriminatory, or otherwise inappropriate.
- Upload or transmit confidential military information, operational details, or anything that could compromise security.
- Misuse the Portal for political, commercial, or non-regimental purposes.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Portal or its data.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation.
Breaches of these terms may result in suspension or permanent removal from the Portal, and in serious cases, may be referred to appropriate authorities.
5. Content Standards
All content posted or shared via the Portal must:
- Be respectful and relevant to The Royal Irish Regiment community.
- Not infringe any copyright, trademark, or intellectual property rights.
- Avoid offensive, obscene, or false information.
By posting or submitting content, you grant The Royal Irish Regiment a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, display, and store that content for the purposes of operating and maintaining the Portal.
6. Moderation and Administration
The Portal is moderated to protect the integrity and welfare of its members.
Administrators may edit, remove, or restrict access to content or accounts that breach these Terms or compromise security.
Moderators act in good faith to uphold the Regiment’s standards, but the Regiment is not responsible for the accuracy of user-generated content.
7. Privacy and Data Protection

8. Security

The Regimental insignia, crest, and associated emblems are protected and may not be used for any unauthorised purpose.

While we aim to provide continuous access, the Portal may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance, security updates, or technical issues.
We will make reasonable efforts to minimise disruption.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Portal (in whole or in part) at any time, without prior notice.
11. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
The Portal and its contents are provided “as is.”
While we strive for accuracy, we make no guarantees that all information is current, complete, or error-free.
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- The Royal Irish Regiment is not liable for any loss, damage, or inconvenience resulting from the use of the Portal.
- You use the Portal at your own discretion and risk.
- Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
12. Suspension and Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Portal if:
- You breach these Terms,
- You misuse the Portal, or
- Your eligibility as a member of The Royal Irish Regiment community ceases.
Upon termination, all rights granted to you under these Terms will immediately end.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
Revised versions will be posted on the Portal, and significant changes may be communicated directly to users.
Your continued use of the Portal after such updates constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and your use of the Portal are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom.
Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Northern Ireland.
